Woke up way too early, 5 AM on the dot. My brain decided it was 1998 and I needed to re-read every single Babysitters Club book. On the plus side, I actually finished the laundry I've been staring at for three days. Small victories.

Up since 5:30 with a sudden urge to bake bread. Like, from scratch. Haven't done that since college, when Sarah and I tried to make sourdough in our dorm room. Remember how we killed that starter like three times, Sarah? Good times. Guess I'm feeling a little old school this morning.

Up since 5:30 today. Woke up thinking about that old diner down on Main Street, the one with the checkered floor. Used to go there every Saturday with my grandpa for chocolate milkshakes. Wonder if it's still there. Might have to take a drive later.

Up since 5:30. Been a minute since I've seen a sunrise from the kitchen window. Makes me think of those early mornings before school, watching cartoons with a bowl of cereal. Simpler times. Now it's coffee and email. Still, good to get a jump on the week. Hope yours is starting off strong, too.

Monday morning and I'm already deep in thought. Woke up feeling like I needed to dig out old photos. My high school yearbook is probably still in that box in the attic. The one with all my old concert tickets.

That sourdough starter is still going strong, by the way. Fed it yesterday.

Up since 5:30, which feels like a Saturday, not a Monday. Already on my second cup of coffee. Found an old photo album in the back of the closet yesterday, spent a good hour flipping through it. Forgot all about that trip to the Grand Canyon in '08. Man, we were so young.

Now if only I could find my other sock. This one has a hole anyway.

Woke up before my alarm today, which never happens on a Monday. Must be all the old photos I was looking at last night. Remember that crazy road trip to Crater Lake? Found a picture from that.

Oh, and the guitar lessons are actually happening. First one next week.
