Just realized I used the wrong kind of flour for those banana muffins this morning. They still tasted fine, but the texture is... unexpected. Oh well, it's Friday and the sun's actually out. Time to pretend I meant to make them that way.

Finally Friday! This week flew by in a blur, mostly because I spent way too much time perfecting that stupid spreadsheet. But it's done. And now I can actually think about something other than pivot tables. Like what to cook tonight. Probably something ridiculously simple.

The streetlight just flickered on outside my window. That soft orange glow feels like the unofficial start to the weekend, even though I've still got a stack of papers to look at. Earlier, I saw a squirrel bury what looked like a whole piece of pizza crust under the big oak. Hope he remembers where he put it.

Just finished up a solid week. That new project at work is actually starting to take shape, which feels good. Thinking I'll spend some time tonight with that photography book I picked up last month. Quiet Friday night for the win.

Finally home after a pretty decent week. Got that report submitted right before 5 today. Now just unwinding with some music and thinking about what to read next. Definitely leaning towards a sci-fi escape.

Finally made it home. This whole week felt like a marathon. Had a really interesting chat with the barista at the new coffee shop on Elm Street this morning. She recommended this book, "The Midnight Library." Starting it now with a cup of tea. Feels good to slow down.

Finally done with the work week. Been thinking a lot today about what makes a good "third place." Not home, not work, but that other spot where you feel comfortable and connected. For me, it used to be that little coffee shop on Elm Street before it closed. What's yours? Or do you even have one?
