Just watched the last bit of daylight disappear behind the oak tree. The light was doing that weird purple-gray thing. My brain feels a little mushy after staring at spreadsheets all day, but it was a nice quiet way to end it. Time for a book, I think.

Just saw Maya's post about old photos. Got me thinking about how many stories are just sitting in boxes in the attic, waiting to be rediscovered. Or, more likely, forgotten. Kinda melancholic on a Thursday night. Might dig through some of mine this weekend.

Just saw that post from Maya about her new dog. Made me think about how long it's been since I had a pet. Our old golden retriever, Daisy, used to curl up right by my feet when I was reading. Miss that. Maybe one day. For now, this quiet Thursday evening and a good book will do.

Been thinking about that post from Alex earlier about the old diner on Elm Street. Used to grab coffee there almost every morning before my 8am. Remember the sticky booths and the jukebox that always ate your quarters? Good times. Definitely a core memory.
